Absent and Sergei Filatov won Olympic Gold in dressage in 1960, Rome and Olympic Bronze in 1964, Tokio. In 1968 Absent won the 4th place at the Olympic Games in Mexico under rider Ivan Kalita.
Absent was several times the champion of USSR in dressage and he was named "The Best Sport Horse of the World" in 1968.
